- - Designed to hold any RotopaX tank up to 3 gallons.
- - It is recommended that you mount the RotopaX Tank Holder on a vertical surface (back glass on SUV, side window of van) with the mounts stacked vertically.
- Q: How strong are the vacuum mounts?
- A: “Strong like bull.” 4.5” vacuum mounts have a rated pull strength of 120lbs, pulling straight out from center. Pull strength on a shear load, i.e. pulling from the side, will be less. 6” vacuum mounts are 210lbs rated. Obviously, putting multiple vacuum mounts on a single product multiplies the maximum holding power.
- Q: How long do the vacuum mounts last before they lose power?
- A: There’s no set time limit on our vacuum mounts. It depends in part on the surface you attach to, the condition of the vacuum mount, the load you put on it, and other factors. As for surfaces to attach to, vacuum mounts in general were designed to carry big sheets of glass and other solid surface materials, so smoother, flatter surfaces are ideal. Clean surfaces and clean SeaSuckers go a long way to maximizing the hold time. In any event, if the vacuum mount begins to lose some vacuum, it will warn you so you can get it back to full power before it comes off. The vacuum pump’s plunger will extend from the pump cylinder when it starts to lose power, revealing an orange indicator band. Once you see orange, that’s your cue to repump your SeaSucker. For car racks, the simplest thing to do is to check the rack before you get in your vehicle, and check it each time you stop for gas, food, or the bathroom.
- Q: Do I need to clean the surface I’m going to attach my SeaSucker to?
- A: Clean off any surface dirt from the mounting surface before attaching your SeaSucker. While you’re at it, make sure the sealing edge of the vacuum pad is clean too. You don’t have to clean the mounting surface with alcohol wipes, as one overly-enthusiastic customer told us they do, but a quick wipe with a wet paper towel or napkin wouldn’t hurt. I'd been looking for different ways to mount my camp shower without drilling holes in my camper walls. Social media kept dropping these SeaSucker ads in my feed. I explored all the different options that SeaSucker had, and saw the RotopaX mount looked to be my best option. It was a flat mounting surface, pre drilled holes and I said to myself, SELF: (and I knew it was me cause I recognized my voice) Lets try this one out and see how this pans out. Using a flat sturdy material I mounted everything for the camp shower to my board, then bolted the board to the SeaSucker. And it WORKS! Secures to the camper wall and holds my camp water heater in a convenience place for both my galley inside as well as my shower tent.
May not be what the designers had in mind, but it's working great for my needs.
Only thing I'd say could be better: the grip is a little narrow for fat fingers.

Just got back from a 1400 mile road trip. A mix of highway and off road. On highway speeds of 85 MPH plus. Off road included a mix bag of BLM, logging, and corrugated road. Temps ranged from daytime highs of 80° to overnight lows of 28°. Not once did the SeaSucker mount, fall, slip, or show any signs of not being rock solid. I wasn’t sure about this when I got it, but I’m a believer now. Other guys at the gas station couldn’t believe it when I told them how good this was. If you do your job and mount it properly the SeaSucker will hold up its end of the bargain. Recommended 100%. 5 out of 5 stars.

First time user, and I’ll be honest, I was skeptical. Let me tell you, I was worried for nothing! These withstood 80mph on the highway and plenty of bumps on the trail. Absolutely one of the best accessories I’ve purchased in a long time! 👍

I used my 4.5 gal. tank on the two tank holders, (4 six inch cups) one placed horizontal one vert. worked very well. Drove 180 miles rock solid, Camped for 6 days in the van, night time temp. dropped top mid 30's. After second night I had to pump up one cup on the holder mounted horizontally and every morning after even after using my fuel....is it a bad suction cup? that 's the reason for the 4 star.

Our vacuum mounts are not designed to last longer than 24 hours without the orange indicator band making itself visible. In fact, when you first see orange appear, that's an indication the mount has lost about 20% of its strength, and needs to be re-pumped. Another pump or two gets it back to full strength once again. Glad you're enjoying it.

This thing is incredibly strong, well made, and easy to use. I was thinking that it would be great to incorporate a molle panel system for the sea sucker. Where you can mount it on the inside of the glass at the back of the car.

It's time to select the right HUSKE Plugs to fit your bike. If you don’t know what front hub your bike has, it’s not that hard to figure out - all you have to do is measure it.
First, get a ruler or tape measure showing millimeters (sorry Americans, the bike world is firmly in the grip of METRIC TYRANNY!).
Step 1: measure the diameter of the hole at the end of your forks - it will be either 9mm, 12mm, 15mm or 20mm.
